Re: Any .260 Remington shooters??

I really like the .260 Rem. If I was to get one gun for deer, it would be the .260 Rem. I shoot the Savage Striker (handgun) in that chambering. I like the 120 gr bullets in my short barrel. I would lean towards the 125 gr Nosler or the 129 gr Hornady in a rifle. I have had great success with the 95 gr V-Max for groundhogs. They shoot superb and I have taken ground hogs just over 300 yards with my Striker.

I would like to see Hornady come out with the Interbond or Nosler give us Accubond. I think it would be ok on elk. smile.gif

Swift is comming out with the 6.5mm Scirocco bullet. If its at least 140 grains, I would use it for elk under 250 yards. That is a long bullet with a very good sectional density and enough mass to do the job. The .260 Rem is basically the ballistic twin of the 6.5x55 Sweede and it has taken a lot of moose in Northern Europe as its a very popular cartridge over there.
