It has been awhile since i've posted, but I received my mount from the 11 pointer i was lucky enough to get on public land in Minnesota last year (near Park Rapids). He was a beaut. Every bit of 209 lbs dressed.

Here is the pic:

So far since seriously hunting, beginning in 2000 I've gotten a beautiful 8 pointer, a 9 pointer, a 10 pointer with a bow, and this magnificent 11 pointer.

I put a lot of work into my scouting, but this one was all luck.

That is a great buck! Yeah definitely a unique stance, I guess I'm not sure what to think of it yet, but congrats on the buck.

Storiale, this is a great buck and you took it on public land, congratulations and keep it up.

I like how the taxidermist captured that alert look in the bucks face and the posture of the head. It reminds me at that one buck, also on public land in Illinois, as he heard my stand making a creaking noice and how he looked alert up at me in the treestand then swapped ends crashing trough the undergrowth like a runaway train.

Very nice and a lifetime memory.

I say it was luck because we pulled up to some public land where you could see a huge stand that someone built (first come first serve on public land) but I didn't get into it because I figured somone built it for a reason, so I didn't want to start something with a local. Also, the guy I was hunting with hadn't seen a deer in 36 hours and we were hunting hard - I asked him if I should get in the stand and he said "I don't care" and then stomped off in the woods.

I sat in at a fields edge for two hours and decided that I would go ahead and post myself in the stand. I had a great view of about 150 yards in almost every direction and I was posted like a sniper.

I just happened to see this buck making his way across my field and boom that was it.

I think the buck in the pic looks mounted weird because of my low ceiling and the angle of the camera. It is actually a normal left-looking mount. I'm too lazy to take him down and get a shot with him.

Thanks for the compliments though. Next year, it has to be a 12 pointer or larger.
