what is the best gun out there

Re: what is the best gun out there

That is like asking which vehicle brand is best. DO you really want to go there??? WHile there are low end guns that are just cheaply made and can negatively affect your shooting, it is largely a matter of personal opinion.

The best answer for you is: the one that fits your own wallet, AND fits you physically. The one that YOU can shoot accurately and the most affectively.

Fit, function and familiarity with the gun are all things that are difficult to quantify, and are different from one shooter to the next.

Krieghoff K80, Perazzi MX2000, Kolar, Holland and Holland and some others are top end guns. They can be ordered built to the shooters style, build, and size. These are the Rolls Royce of shotguns. Remington, Winchester, Browning, are more like the Fords and Chevys of shotguns. They are decent quality and will get the job done 99% of the time, but they are not hand made by precision craftsmen.

My primary turkey wrench is an SX2. Awesome gun!!!!!

How does the new SX3 differ??

[/ QUOTE ]

My primary is also an SX-2 - it just feels right....

The SX-3 is lighter (by just more than half a pound), has new lines that I think improves its already great feel, and the cycling is actually a bit faster (I think it was already the fastest autoloader to begin with). I've only seen the field version in person, but I'm going to try to talk the bride into getting me the waterfowl version for Christmas...

I'd like to own a shotgun like Dick Cheney's. I believe it is a 28 gauge Perazzi? grin.gif

Lighter and faster???? shocked.gif That oughta put an end to those annoying Tom Knapp Benelli commercials. smirk.gifgrin.gif The SX2 was already the fastest auto on the market. However, for turkey hunting, faster is not really a huge concern. The 1/2 lb. less is interesting, though. I'm already headed to the gunshop Monday morning. Guess I have something else to look into now. grin.gif

You're going to get tons of opinions here.

It depends on a lot of things.

For me, it's the Benelli.

I agree i shoot a SBE and love it, i get to see a ton of guns either in the duck blind in the goose fields or in the quail fields and the gun that i see in all of these the most is the Benelli either the nova or up too the Super Black Eagle.

You cant go wrong with a Rem 870, its been killing for 100 years, and its reliable. It depends too on the type of gun your looking at, O/U, Auto, Pump, and what your hunting, and what youll spend.

I see guys bring 10,000 shotguns quail and pheasant hunting and treate them like crap.

All in all its a personal choice....
