VTbowman
Will deer eat on this if its planted in quantity? I had planted some around my front pond and it really took over well. Its very invasive and would make a good plant to throw just about anywhere and grow like wild fire for plot users if deer would eat it. . dogdoc
Re: Crown Vetch? yes--crown vetch is an excellent wildlife food. Deer love vetch and will feed on the green--the seeds make excellent food for quail and dove. I imagine turkeys would feed on it also. Like you said--it is VERY invasive but if that doesn't bother you then I'd say go for it. It is very aggressive and will crowd out most weeds. It is slow to get established but once it does it should be there a LONG time. todd
VTbowman
Re: Crown Vetch? COOL! I know it can be very aggressive. Like I said I have planted it. Well basically threw a couple small clumps of it on clay around the pond and nowmits awesome looking there. Its quite pretty when it flowers too IMHO. I have to mow all around the pond to keep it from spreading but man I would think it would take right off if left alone for a year or 2. Thanks for the info. I may go spot plant some of this down in a few ditch rows and see what happens...
