Re: rangefinders??

I got a Nikon 400 a few years ago, and I noticed last year it stopped measuring anything past about 45 yards, so I sent it back to Nikon. They wanted $176 to repair it, even though a new one only cost $199. I was pretty upset, and still am to a degree. I think they should have stood behind their product better than they did. I did nothing wrong with that rangefinder.

Burn me once......

I'll never buy another Nikon rangefinder, and I take every opportunity to recommend a Bushnell rangefinder now.

Re: rangefinders??

i think you can get them at wal-mart. i bought mine off of basspro.com for 199.99. but yea that is probably the model at wal-mart. i can't honestly say if i really like it yet or not. i have decided that i'm gonna take it to the range and decide if i like it there first before i go trusting it in the woods.lol...

Re: rangefinders??

i'll have to try out my new nikon and see if i like it or not. i will also have to see how dependable it will be before using it in the field to range a deer. i don't want a monster to come out and get a false reading and shoot over its back. if the nikon doesn't do the trick i will have to upgrade to a bushnell.

Re: rangefinders??

I have the basic bushnel yardage pro sport and love it. Its not going to range stuff thats way out there but will do great on deer out to about 200 never tried further yet. It also works well for short distances while bow hunting, even stuff under 10 yds. my opinion and alot of other guys i know, you cant go wrong with this range finder for 150$ or sometimes less if you find a deal. Get yourself a sport, or slightly better model if you want farther distances, wont be disappointed with bushnell.

I have the very same model and I love it!! Never had a single issue with it, and the price was sweet for being waterproof as well. You made a great choice. Remember, since they are somewhat delicate electronic devices, you can't be dropping them and not expect something to break. wink.gif
