tedicast Posted July 16, 2006 Report Share Posted July 16, 2006 .......to 3D shooting!!!! The past 2 weeks I have gone on my first 2 3D shoots. What a blast. I'm kicking myself that I didn't try this years ago. Me, and Scottyluck, met up with Dan (NY911) and a few guys from another forum, The Reapers Blade, that we are all members of. Last week it was at Northern Dutchess Rod and Gun Club in NY. One of the guys from the Reapers Blade is a member of the club, and it was an off week for shooting, so we were able to shoot the course. It was a great way for Scotty and I to shoot or first. Today we shot at Ti-Yogi Bowmen club in Hyde Park NY. It was a fun course, not as challenging as last weeks, but a good confidence builder. I am very laser range finder dependent, so shooting 3D is a big wake up call as to how bad I am at range estimation. Getting better, but I still have a ways to go. The very best part of the shoots is the group of guys we shot with. I have known Dan from here for a couple years, so meeting him was like meeting an old friend. The group from The Reapers Blade is an awesome bunch of guys too. Hoping to get then down to CT in the next few weeks to shoot one local to us. I was just off today and that takes some of the fun out - but still nice to be out there! The best shoots are in the fall, when it is just starting to get a hint of crispness in the air! Although I am not very competitive I do conceed its a great way to fine tune your yardage estimation skills in a hunting related set up.
