tedicast
Re: Stand Names Me and my brother do a good amount of hunting on state property. One of the spots we hunt, sometimes from the ground, sometimes from a climber we call "the bottom". When one of us says we are hunting the bottom. the other knows exactly where we are talking about. My bro gave a name to one of my favorite spots after he hunted it this year. Its the spot I shot my first buck from last week. It will now be called the "cubby hole". Chrud
Re: Stand Names My brother has one that is called "Dead Wood" because a lot of the trees near it are dead. We haven't really found the best spots yet, so we haven't named many.

horst
Re: Stand Names I hunt other peoples property so most of my stands I just refer to by the property name.Funny thing is most of these properties are still refered to according to people who dont even own tem any more. Example "Langners grove" The Langner famly sold it to the DNR like 12 yrs ago but its still goes by thier name to all the locals. If someone refered to it by the name the DNR uses for it I wouldnt have a clue what they were talking about Then theres the Taylor Grove.I have no dea who the Taylors were, its been farmed by Colemans and now the Chapman family but no Taylors that i can remember.Matter of fact theres several Taylors who own groves around here but none of them are known as Taylors grove, its all pretty confusing if you take t literally
