jerdanmagic
I can't help but start to believe all of the stories of mountain lion sightings in OKlahoma in the last couple of years. I was wondering if anyone else felt my pain or has ran into a big cat in the woods?

huntinsonovagun
Re: any big cats? I have heard we have them in the eastern part of the state also. Actually, I know a guy who shot one. He has cattle and really could care less about what people think about him shooting them. Hear there are getting to be more and more of them. Boomer Sooner!! Jeramie
Re: any big cats? Yep, we actually use to loose hogs. We raised hogs for several years (when I was growing up). We had several piglets killed. The Warden said it was either a cat or a bear. Dad saw a cat but bears have also been spotted close to our place. The wife and I watched a show on TV several months back. They proved that there were Cougars in Okieland. They actually collared a cat in South Dakota and Tracked it to Central Oklahoma. And recently (within the last couple of Months) they found cat prints at Turkey Mountain in Tulsa. On the show they showed several pics of cats and some that had been put down. They aren't nearly as thick as they are in other place but if they're in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, and Texas.... You better believe they're in Oklahoma. jerdanmagic
Re: any big cats? I've started packin a peace maker on my hip, when going in and out of the woods. haha I know i'm a lil scared, but I've seen what they can do to a cow or an elk and I just don't wanna be cat food. Washi
Re: any big cats? I had one come within about 30 yards of me a few years ago here in Missouri. There are a lot of sightings around here, especially by coon hunters. It has scared some coon hunters away from the sport. There was even a litter of kittens spotted this last spring. I estimate that within a 50 mile radius of my house there are easily a dozen or more mountain lion.
