Guest outdoor_adventurer
i'm looking for a treestand that i can bow hunt out of but yet shotgun hunt as well. i would like a treestand where the seat can fold up (so you can stand up and have more room..). i have only found one in a magazine but i have seemed to loose the magazine where it was located. i would like some advice on picking and choosing a light and very portable treestand for not a whole lot of money. i prefer to have a ladder stand... johnf
Re: treestand help?? I would take a look at this one if you're always going to be by yourself. Walmart carries a very good buddy stand for $98.

snapper
Re: treestand help?? Most Ladders do have enough room that you shouldn't have to worry about the seat folding...however, if the seat doesn't fold on a stand...you can't lean back against the tree comfortably IMO. Also, you stated that you wanted a "portable" stand? My thinking on portable would be a climber. A ladder stand is nice to hunt out of (got 3 myself) but they aren't too portable. Takes me and a buddy to set one up (20')...usally stays there all season. If your looking for a good climbing stand with a fold up seat...look at a Loggy. Check http://www.sportsmansguide.com/ for a pretty good price on one.
