VTbowman
This is the size of the forend screws for an Encore barrel I am looking for. 8-40 I need 2 of them 1" long or longer. I will have to grind them down to fit so it does not matter as long as they have treads the entire length or no more then a 1/4 inch shank. If anyone has this size screw can you please PM me with a price and address? Thank you.

Do they need to be countersunk? [/ QUOTE ] Nope just regular steel (or stainless steel) allen head machine screws. 8-40 thread about 1" long with full thread or very very short shank. You would think I could find them locally but we are talkin hick Vermont here. I have yet to call any machine shops but again with the amount of gas I would spend to drive both ways (100 miles to town) for 2 screws. I might as well but the expensive ones off Ebay. VTbowman
Re: Need two 8-40 allen head screws 1\" long Well button head would work but yes I was thinking a regular cap head. They will be counter sunk in the wood. I plan to use them for a Boyd forend for my Encore rifle barrel.

VTbowman
Re: Need two 8-40 allen head screws 1\" long I put a bid on a set on Ebay so no not yet. I will most likely be out bid in 2 days. I always get out bid the last 3 seconds of an auction it seems. LOL Guess I am cheap. I can't find them locally unless they special order them, then its for a box of them and for way more then 2 screws should cost. Still looking.... Washi
Re: Need two 8-40 allen head screws 1\" long You could buy the box, keep what you need, and maybe a couple spares. Then sell the rest on eBay.
