Covehnter
Re: Delta Waterfowl\'s Predation Study on Waterfowl The efforts are showing great results that should open some folks eyes about the impact predators have on the populations of waterfowl. But dont be fooled into thinking that it only happens in the pothole region and surrounding areas b/c it is alot larger problem than people think in less known waterfowling states like my state of Georgia. We have countless woodduck and residental mallards nests raided and destroyed each year by coons, opossums, armadillos, foxes, coyotes, etc. killing the hen most of the time as well. This is another reason that people should get serious about arming woodduck boxes w/ predator guards and putting them in safe places. . . the hen nesting house is a great way to help the residental mallards too. I'm convinced that if the predators were kept in check the waterfowl numbers would increase more than most would think. So, when that raccoon or possum scurries out into your lane on the road, apply more pressure to the right pedal!! (it'll help your turkeys too!)
