Re: 30-06

I have heard lots of really bad things about the mossberg atr 100 from a lot of people who don't own them. The people that I have talked to that own them all love them. They have all said that they have great accuracy and are very dependable.

The only thing that I could say is that they are not a long term proven riffle. If you're on a budget I would also take a look at the New England Firearms handi rifle. These are very accurate, very reliable guns and with the spare cash you can get a better scope.

You can buy a Savage for close to the same money. I would also nose around in some Pawn shops. Ive found a good deal or two in there on occasion, especially if youre holding cash.

The mossberg is getting some bad press. Id personally look for something that has been around longer and has a good rep. Its not sawying that the Mossberg brand isnt good, they make great guns, but the rifle's press is all over the place.

Start looking for a Ruger, Remington, Winchester, Savage, H&R (NEF), etc. I honestly think you can find a rifle that is known to perform for the same cash.
