LifeNRA
His parents told me last night he can get a bow with his money that my wife and I been putting into a account for him! It was for a car, but he will be getting a part-time job shortly. So now he wants the bow! Time to start shopping! So here is the delemma! He is 15 years old, already has a 28" draw length! We need to get a bow he can grow with! I been looking at two bows, Nova SU on the left, Dakota SU on the right. Mostly the right one, the Dakota. Because it has the 40-60 pound draw weight and a 27-32" draw length! Here is some info on the Dakota SU. An updated version of an old favorite, the new Dakota now features the revolutionary Synergy™ Universal Cam, one of the most adjustable cams ever produced. With three pairs of modules that can be flipped between two draw-length settings, this bow can be modified for anywhere from a 27" to 32" draw length. Draw weights range between 40 to 60 lbs. or 50 to 70 lbs. Adjustments are quick and easy to make without the need for a bow press. The comfortable 40" axle-to-axle length offers the enhanced forgiveness needed to produce tight groups no matter if you shoot with fingers or release. Best of all, it produces this forgiving performance while generating IBO ratings of 302 fps. The 65% let- off eccentrics deliver a superior blend of smoothness and speed. Fine-tune the angle and orientation of the cable guard using the integrated Cam-Lock™. The Dakota comes in a kit as well. Just the bow is $299, the kit includes bow, NAP™ Centerest Flipper arrow rest, Mongoose six-arrow camo quiver and Copper John four-pin sight, for $369. Anybody have any of these two bows, or info on these bows? We are going to a few places and I am going to have him shoot a few bows. But I like the idea that this one bow will allow him to grow a bit with him as he gets older!

Guest jkuhn22
Re: Wooo! Hooo!!! Nephew Got The OK For A Bow!!! I was in the same situation a few years ago. My parents got me a bow for Christmas when I was 15 and we were afraid I was going to grow out of it. We got the PSE Nova and at the time I had a 29 inch draw lenght, now I am 21 and about a 30 draw but just use a release so it all works out. I cannot say enough about how much I love my PSE, I know it is not the best by any means but it has been a great starter and I would recommend it as great starter brand. One thing to keep in mind is when a guy turns 15/16 they start to fill out instead of up so I doubt his draw will change much over the years.
