hutchies
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! I have learned that if you fight the urge to scratch and put liquid benadryl on there that it will go away. If I get it bad I will take a scalding hot shower to open my pores and let the liquid out. buckee
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! OUCH ....I always seem to get into the stinging nettles. They can be pretty uncomfortable too. Get well soon

Gator
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! Hot watre will take the itch away. Go swimming in a HIGHLY chlorinated pool, the chlorine will dry it out also. Here in Okie land the pharmacuetical stores sell an extract that you take orally, it doesn't stop an outbreak, but will lessen the severity. I take it every year!!! AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! I love the woods but hate poison ivy, that is why I don't venture into the woods till I have too! I get it back! Sorry you have it, hope it goes away soon!! Guest Andrea
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! So far it isn't as bad as last year's case. I bought some spray-on calamine made by Band-Aid. Works pretty good. Last year nothing helped. I wound up going to the dr. to get a shot...and even that took forever to make it go away. hutchies
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! I pay the doctor $65 and the Pharmacy another $15 every year when I get it in the spring. It never fails. Soon as it hits my face or gets near I go to the doc. I had my eyes swell shut from it once and that was enough.

I'm always hitting it with the weed eater at work and it sends it flying everywhere! I've had poison ivy everywhere on my body, yes, even there! (long story) In fact I'm getting over some right now. This is probably one of the worst cases I've had, it looks like I burnt myself...

wtnhunt
Re: Guess what I\'ve got!!!!! Between running the tractor and other stuff I do around here over the spring and summer, I get into the poison ivy and oak every year. Usually after knowing I have gotten into it, I will get in the pool for a while. Seems to help. [ QUOTE ] Ah, but did you know that poison ivy is a preferred deer browse? [/ QUOTE ] Yep, cows and horse will eat the stuff too.
