tclubbs2
I am looking at bows to buy and have narrowed it down to 2. A fred bear element or a parker buck hunter. Both come as a package deal. I like the parker but the fred bear is a cheaper package. Is there a going to be that much of a difference between the two. I am new to bow hunting and have not heard that much about fred bear bows. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
hutchies
Re: New bow purchase Without taking a second thought...........the Fred Bear. Better quality bow without any doubt. Parker is overrated and have alot of problems. Strutbuster on MO just bought a Parker Hornet and had mishap after mishap. Here is a link: http://mossyoak.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=4286 Don't know if you were around but I had a Phoenix 32 that lasted me about 2 weeks. There are alot of cases just like mine and strutbusters all over at.
ScottyLuck
Re: New bow purchase It's hard to buy a bad bow these days. Being new to the sport the most important part is to make sure the bow is set up for you properly meaning you get the correct draw length and don't get too much draw weight. 257bob
Re: New bow purchase I have not shot any of the new Fred Bear bows, but I have never been overly impressed with Parker bows. I know that what ever bow you choose, it'll kill a deer.
tclubbs2
Re: New bow purchase Thanks for the info. I started bowhunting about 4 years ago with a used PSE. I hurt my shoulder and sold it a year and a half ago. I just got to the point where I can pull back 55 lbs comfortably so I am going with the 55-60 lbs model with a 29 inch draw. I just want to get back into the woods and have a good time. I am just going to be hunting deer turkey with it. There isn't anything else in southwest missouri big enough to hunt with a bow. Looks like fred bear is the way to go.
