Hoyt03
Anyone here ever use any of the bushnell series of scopes. Looking for feedback.
snapper
Re: Bushnell Scopes If your looking at buying a 3200/4200 Elite series...then your prob. good to go. Heard nothing but good things from this line. However, if your looking at their "cheaper" lines...I'd personally save up a few dollars more and buy a Nikon. Nikon Pro-staff is a little more $ than most Bushnells and is cheaper than the 3200/4200 Bushnells. I'd put the Pro-staff (Nikon's cheaper line) on any of my guns before any Bushnell. JMO! OJR
Re: Bushnell Scopes I have had a few Busnell's and have had problems that is why I don't use them anymore!
toddyboman
Re: Bushnell Scopes The Elite Series (3200 or 4200) are awesome. Use them on a couple differnt guns. The Bushnell Legend is another good one. Other than that, I have never used any other models. But rememeber you get what you pay for. Jeramie
Re: Bushnell Scopes IMHO bushnell gets a bad wrap a lot. Granted I dont think their tollerances are as tight as the high dollar scopes but if youre looking for a cheap scope to put on an old gun or something.... go for it. I bought a Rem 700 several years back. It had a Bushnell sportview (3x9x40) on it. I shot a lot of deer with that setup. Later I upgraded the scope and I moved the bushnell to a Traditions Buck hunter pro (.50cal). I again shot a lot of deer with that ML setup. I sold the ML so I moved the scope to a .22lr where it tore up some tree rats. I then moved it to a CVA optima. I never hunted with it but I shot several rounds out of it and sold the Optima. It now sits atop a CVA wolf and all these years later that used scope I bought still holds Zero. Im not saying all the scopes are that quality but im very happy with that cheap little scope. wtnhunt
Re: Bushnell Scopes Got a bushnell sportsman 3-9X40 on my tc black diamond and it is a decent scope. For what I paid for it from wal mart, I would have to say for the money, the scope would be hard to beat.
GWSmith
Re: Bushnell Scopes I have purchased 3 different scopes for my rifles. Only one of which most people would consider a decent purchase...until they looked through them all. Maybe it's just my rare luck but I was actually dissapointed in the Nikon Prostaff scope I bought. I expected with all the hype(yes I said HYPE) about the quality they were supposed to have I would achieve some kind of miracle looking through it. That did not happen. I'm not saying that it is not a quality scope but it cant set itself apart from my other scopes in any way that I can tell. Is it built better..maybe...probably. Does it hold a Zero better...I cant tell. Both of my other scopes do the same and required no adjustment after they were set. So no difference there. Is the sight picture any clearer/brighter than my other 2 scopes? No...not that I can tell anyways. Quite honestly...I bought the Nikon Prostaff for the name and some percieved better result than my other 2 scopes. I can not honestly tell if I got anything better! Both of my other scopes were bought at Walmart for $40 or under...one is a Bushnell and the other a Tasco. All three still hit where I aim, none of them fog up, and they all work for what I'm asking them to do...and in the end thats all I care about. I do know that I'm not normal...I wish my luck in buying scopes extended into other areas(like buying a winning lottery ticket) but when it comes to getting scopes that work well no matter what their cost...I'm at 100%. Here's the reason for me using that word HYPE earlier: If there is any difference between the Nikon Prostaff, the Bushnell, and the Tasco scopes maybe it will show up as time goes along but so far so good...I'll let you know if and when any of them fail in any way. Jeramie
Re: Bushnell Scopes I have the cheap Tasco scopes too. Ive had them on several different guns. They are a fine scope on everything Ive used them on. They are plenty bright, hold zero, etc. The one scope that honestly surprised me is the Redhead scopes (I believe they are built but Bushnell). I bought a 6x18x50 for my .243. It was roughly $120. I looked through a few other scopes that were cheaper and a few that were suppose to be better quality, honestly the clarity of the redhead is amazing for the price. They offer deer scopes (lower powered) a lot cheaper. IMHO, they are one of the best low end scopes out there.
Tominator
Re: Bushnell Scopes I have a Bushnell on my .22. It's one of the cheaper ones though. Think it only cost me $50. For the price, it's the best scope I have. Bright and holds a zero very well.
hunterfisherman
Re: Bushnell Scopes The Bushnell Elite series rock. The rain gaurd feature is fantastic. I wish more scopes had it. They can run a little bit more but will last you a long time. The Cabela's Alaskan Guide is getting great reviews as well. I've not shot with one but I have'nt found a bad word about them either. Not to bad on price either
VTbowman
Re: Bushnell Scopes I have 2 Bushnell Elite 3200 2-6x32 handgun scopes. 1 on an Encore 16" 300 win mag and one on an Encore 12" 454 Casull. Both calibers have more then decent recoil for a handgun which few can argu that... The scopes are awesome! Bullet proof and really sharp picture. Not sure about the lesser lines of scopes they sell but the Elites are really Elite!
Guest bowhunter61
Re: Bushnell Scopes I own a Bushnell Banner 2-7x33. Use it on Ben. Nova pump. Looks clear and had no problems so far.
RangerClay
Re: Bushnell Scopes When I started using scopes about 8 years ago I did a lot of research on the best scope for the money I wanted to pay. I chose Bushnell above them all. Since then I have never looked back. Now all of my scopes are Bushnell. Bushnell scopes have Bausch & Lomb optics and awesome light gathering abilities. If you go to the Natchez web page you can usually find a great deal on Bushnell scopes. Ranger
snapper
Re: Bushnell Scopes I've had cheaper Tascos, Simmons, and Bushnells...I'm not saying they are "junk" don't buy them. They will work....the prob. I have with them...the Simmons wouldn't hold zero after a few years. Wasn't worth the time or money (shipping) to send back...threw it out! The Tascos...really no major probs. with them...one fogged up and Tasco replaced it for free. However, they are now owned (unless I'm wrong) by Bushnell, and have heard others having a hard time returning broken scopes to the FL address? I know of 2 Bushnells that went south...one mine and another a buddy's. Again, we both just pitched them. Never had a prob. with my Nikons or Leupolds...and yes, I see a clear differance between these scopes and my "cheaper" scopes. The Nikons and Leupolds are brighter and crisper! I guess my point was...if your going to spend $80-$90 on a cheaper scope...save up and buy a little better one. If you can't afford that...then go ahead and buy a cheaper end...it will prob. work fine for what you want it to do!

Do you think if you would have spent the same amount of money on a Bushnell as you did the Nikkon or Leupold, than the Bushnell would it have performed better?? Just wondering? Bushman
Re: Bushnell Scopes I bought a Bushnell 3200 last year...major reason was the rainguard as the snow and my breath really fogged up my other scopes at the wrong times. Not a problem anymore. You will not be dissapointed with these scopes! Shot the Realtree Deer of the Year with it last year!

[/ QUOTE ] I believe the Bushnell elites (3200/4200) are good scopes. Like I said in my first reply, I personally don't have any experience with the "upper" end Bushnell's, but know folks who do and love 'em. I've just never had any issues with my Nikon's or Leupolds to make me switch brands again. With the prices of the 3200/4200's...you could get a good middle of the road Nikon or even a lower end Leupold. I never really put their products down...just for me personally...I will stay with Nikon or Leupold before any Bushnell. Guess it depends on what you want and can afford. If its not broke why fix it. I only asked the question out of curiosity. I actually use all three brands (Bushnell, Nikon, Leupold) on differnt rifles. Can't really complain about any of them. But they are all higher quality scopes. But all serve differnt purposes, from hunting to just shooting. Like you said all depends on what you want and can afford. hunterfisherman
Re: Bushnell Scopes I'll never be able to afford those upper end scopes but the Bushnells are good for me. I am getting ready to buy my first Nikon scope though. That new omega for my omega ml. Not to bad on price either.
