LifeNRA
Re: GPS Sounds like a great unit! States it works well in heavy tree cover. But, OUCH! That price tag! If you get it let us know how it works! One day, I might save enough to get one! But for now the Vista works fine!
hunterfisherman
Re: GPS I was able to find them for less online. Still a little expensive but I hunt in some dense area and need the extra jump in range. I will be using it very soon and will post my experience
bowhtr1
Re: GPS I just bought a Magellan explorist 400. Now if I can just figure out how to work this thing. One good thing since hurricane Katrina we dont have many trees to worry about anymore.
hunterfisherman
Re: GPS I plan on picking up the instructional video for the one I get. There is to much to offer with the new units and I don't think I would get all of it on my own. I bet they have one for that unit as well. You might try the outdoor stores and if not then Amazon.com
1olhunter
Re: GPS I have owned several of the Garmin GPS's including the 60C. I also use the Garmin mapsource Metroguide and Topo software. I travel a lot on my job and use the 60C to navigate to the different sites. It has a pretty good auto-routing funtion. I have a Garmin LegendC that I use for hunting, it is more compact, but does not have as much memory for map storage as the 60C. I have had 1 failure with the 60C, I sent the unit to Garmin and they replaced it.
hunterfisherman
Re: GPS That's great information. Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the input. Hoping to get two years out of it. Then the X series should be down in price.
