LOL A TRUE robin hood would be an arrow shot at and hitting dead center of a bulls eye on purpose and then shooting a second and sticking it into the 1st. Or at least calling it before the shot I would think. Now I have had 8 in my life to where I have accidentally stuck an arrow into the back of another but no where near the bull nor did I call it. Well I did have one I called and it happened but not dead center of a bull and it was the funniest thing to see everyones eye pop open when it happen. No more then my own. LOL . Every one I ever had where freak accidents but still very cool and ego boosting in my book. I dont keep them because it always seems that when it happens I am low on arrows as it is and need the one in the back if recoverable. It was a friend's bow and HIS friend's arrow. Usually when shooting someone else's bow your not directly 'on bullseye' but it was different this time. My first arrow was dead on X at 20 yds. The next one smacked the side of it. After hearing the contact I concentrated harder than I ever have before and let loose on the third. The third was dead on the first...shafting it. 'Wow, he just robin hooded your arrow"..The "bow owner" told the "arrow owner" The arrow owner said "just pull them apart and I'll still have one of them to shoot" I said "Doubt it, I'll pay you for both of them...they're going home with me!" Steve, in 3-D if you robin hood a person's arrow(happens quite a bit) you get that person's score. So if the arrow was in the X, you get an X. Now if you bust the heck out of the arrow but end up ricocheting off it and hitting in the 5 ring(Dan), you get a 5. Kind of sad, seeing as how you know you were headed for an X. I've gotten a few robinhoods, back a few years ago, but it gets too expensive, even though they are great braggin rights..LOL I don't shoot more than 2 arrows at the same spot now. I was shooting in the range at the store one day this summer, and a couple of customers were watching. So I decided to see how tight of a group I could shoot (even though I had robinhooded the week before, and only had 5 arrows left) first two shots=robinhood...then I quit bc I was mad at how stupid I had been just to impress some customers in a store where they dont even pay me commission. I've done it twice both were on purpose and both were due to someone questioning my ability. The first was when I was shooting a new bow........first arrow was in the bullseye, and my buddy said "You couldn't do it again if your tried". I told him "I'll go one step further and stick the arrow" He laughed for about 30 seconds, then he got to scrape his jaw off the ground, lol. The second was when I was putting my hunting pins on for turkeys earlier this year. Shot the first arrow and bullseye.........my son says "Dad that was luck" I told him "I'll robinhood that arrow then if you think it was luck" He says sure sure........then he stood there in shock when the arrow stuck the first, lol. I was trying to shoot the arrow and on the 60th or 70th try I did. I wouldn't consider it an accident if you are aiming at the same spot each time, an accident would be if you were aiming at different dots.
