[/ QUOTE ] At least he didn't say the best shooter in the state. BobD, do I need to point my truck north and show you what a Hoyt can do? [/ QUOTE ] First things first....That was NOT my qoute. Even if I lived in the same town, there would be no need give up my title to Shawn. Second....If you think you have the firepower, bring on the smoke hero. I already know what Hoyts can do.......They make great wheel chocks.

Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Throwing in the towel.... Congrats on making the ethical decision that is for your best interest and the game you persue. The satisfaction is surely different with a trad bow but can surely wreck you if you have the unetihcal shot jump in your lap some evening when everything but the shot goes right. Then it really makes you wonder WHY??? Good luck this fall

Rhino
Re: Throwing in the towel.... Hey..do what you feel is right for you Shawn. I'd much rather see you out there hunting with confidence in your hunting equipment and ability than not. Smack some down this season with the new gear. Orion_70
Re: Throwing in the towel.... I shoot my compound with fingers and no sights also. The same way I shoot traditional. I never shoot groups really, I shoot kill shots from a different location for each shot. I just throw arrows around the target, pick them up and shoot. You're only going to get one shot in the field. I've seen some of the best shooters stack arrows on top of each other at the range with marked yards then miss a target just randomly thrown out. I think you're probably shooting a lot better than you think, but I'm glad to see you making the decision you feel comfortable with for a clean ethical kill. Tony
Re: Throwing in the towel.... i also agree shawn that you should shoot what you have the best accuracy with. but we all know you will return to traditional someday. i havent had any problems with switching between recurve and compound at all. i shoot 3 under for a recurve and a index finger release for the compound. i missed a doe twice last year with recurve. but it was a blessing, because i shot my biggest buck just 1 week later with the compound. i am dragging out the recurve today to fling a few and see if the old magic is still there. also im setting up my compound for hunting. i guess i have the best of both worlds..
