Ohiobucks
Just got my new H&R Ultra Slug 12 in and set up this past week. I went with a Pine Ridge 2.5-7 x 32 shotgun scope. After about 4-6 shots, I had this thing right on. Let me tell you about a heavy barrel! They call it a bull barrel, but until you actually hold one, the name doesn't do it justice. This is a big chunk of steel! I am very impressed with how it shoots so far, can't wait to get it out in the woods. Ohio's shotgun season starts on Nov 27. I know how big a bull barrel is on a big bore gun, I can just imagine how big it must be for a SLUG!! Good luck this season.

Squirrelhunter91
Re: My new Ultra Slug (pic) That definitely looks like a great gun!! Probably not a whole lot of recoil either because of the weight!!

hunterfisherman
Re: My new Ultra Slug (pic) That's the 10 gauge barrell bored down isn't it. I shot one of those and you can reach out and touch something with it. It shoots on a line. I like the one shot thing too. I've looked at these but haven't had the money yet. I love the gun but it sure is heavy
too_pointer
Re: My new Ultra Slug (pic) There is nothing like the good ole recoil from a slug gun to wake you up What kind of ammo have you shot through it so far ? too_

[ QUOTE ] Anything he can find. The guy is a nut. He shoots any kind of "sab-ott." [/ QUOTE ] Whatever. Sabo, sab-ott, bullet, slug...call it what you want. As long as it is a sabot, not a rifled slug, I'll try it. Mike to answer your question, I really liked the Hornady rounds so far. I have tried them, some Winchester platinum tips, a few Remington copper, and some Federals as well. All shoot decent, but the Hornady seems to be more consistent. Randyman
Re: My new Ultra Slug (pic) Nice outfit! Anyone who shoots a slug gun from the bench much knows you come to appreciate that extra weight soaking up some recoil! Most 12 gauge slugs rattle your teeth! My slug gun has a sling on it, and it comes in handy during a long day in the deer woods.
