Guest bheidkamp
Hi everyone! I'm totally new to this board and just wanted to introduce myself and our small company. (got permission to post this - so please don't yell) We make a line of rifle/bow/shotgun slings called the Montana Slings (along with some other stuff too) which is an official Team RealTree product. I thought some people here might really like them, because this seems to be a good board for dedicated hunters. Briefly, they are handmade in our shop in Bozeman, Montana - and are a single loop design with a special sliding knot. No hooks, no buckles. This lets you adjust from banjo tight to across the chest loose really fast. I've used them for two full seasons now and they just keep getting better the more you use them. The original design came from one of our state trappers, and his have over 20 years of constant use on them. This is something that if you take care of it, you can give it to your grandkids. It's because we make them from leather that normally is reserved for really high end products (meaning it costs a small fortune for us to procure - call us crazy but it makes for some darn nice stuff). It's supple, well over 1/8" thick, and has a very classy finish. Comes in 1", 1 1/4" and "cobra" style (1 3/4" shoulder pad with a 1" sling - removable!) all with swivels, fully synthetic version coming out soon too. These became a Team RealTree product within minutes of being seen at the '05 Shot show! Well, I just hope some of you will check them out 'cause again we're a small custom company trying to make it in the big world. If you are interested we have a site where you can order these and our other gear (www.istdesigns.com) or you can call us toll free at 888-478-6565. Thank you everyone for reading this - and I wish you all the best this hunting season!! If you ever get to Montana to hunt, stop in and we'll give you the tour! Guest bheidkamp
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product If it helps you guys have confidence in the product, besides Team RealTree, Boone & Crockett selected the 1 1/4" brown sling for their club (it is the ONLY sling they sell to their members ) and Orvis just added the hardware-free shotgun sling. They carry the Orvis or B&C logos, respectively. Between these three "big fish" endorsements (Team RealTree, B&C Club, Orvis) and for us being a small company, we're pretty jacked about that!! Now you guys go ahead and beat 'em up - we guarantee them. Just don't soak them in neat's foot oil, that is about the only thing that will kill them. ruttinbuc
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product Will your bow slings on a parallel limb bow? I'd be interested in that.
Guest bheidkamp
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product Yes they will, since the design is over the cams. The sling tightens behind each cam with a simple slip. The cool thing is no hardware, no velcro, no buckles, no noise. If you need to take it off, just undo the top cam loop and the bottom one usually slides off on its own. Totally silent.

tallone
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product I've heard some good things about these already. Anywhere near Misssula? I'm going to be there in November hunting Elk and Muledeer for the first time
Guest bheidkamp
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product Yes, we are about 2 hours west of Missoula in Bozeman. Give us a call and we'll give you directions. While we're not a retail shop we'll certainly get you hooked up. Stop in - we're there from 8-5. You are going to LOVE hunting around Missoula - good areas abound. If you cant' make it over, the local Sportsman's Warehouse in Missoula carries the 1" and the 1 1/4" slings. They are on Reserve Street if memory serves me correctly.
tallone
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product The place I'm going is about an hour to an hour and a half southwest of Missoula so I might be close and if we have time I will definetly stop in. Thanks
hunterfisherman
Re: Montana Slings - Team RealTree product I've not had any problems with anything the Team Realtree has backed so I'll look on the site as well
