New exhaust installed on my truck!!!

Yeah baby! My buddy and I pulled my old stock exhaust and installed my new Magnaflow SI/DO #12388 muffler and Magnaflow 3.5" tips this morning. The job went fairly smooth and I love the sound of the muffler. It's a little louder in the cab than I expected but I'm told that should calm down with breakin.

Anyway, here are some pix.

Buddy's 68 Camaro and my rig:

I'll try to record and post either a sound clip or video soon.

Looks sweet Harv. How much power did you gain? ...I've got a Ram and I wouldnt mind doing the same thing.

The drawback to the Hemi is hte computer. You don't gain anything on the dyno with modifications. The aftermarket programmers are designed for stock engines with no modifications. I know, my Hemi has a cold air intake, Flowmaster 40 Series exhaust, and no difference in performance or milage. frown.gif

Looks good Harvdog! It will loose some of hte resonance once a layer of carbon is built up in the pipes. Mine is not as loud as when it was new. It will still roar but not as loud. It was fun listening to for 2000 miles. cool.gif

Re: New exhaust installed on my truck!!!

Sweet!! Got to have pipes on a truck like that. Looks like you just got catback exhaust? I guess if things got too loud, which they usually do with breakin, you can always have a glasspack installed to dampen the noise. I just got catback duals put on my 98 QC 360 Ram, 2.5" pipes into 3.5" chrome tips straight out the back, no mufflers or anything. Sounds great but can get loud cant imagine running true duals on a 360.
