muggs
My Tribe delt Ronnie Belliard to the Cardinals yesterday. That marks the fifth veteran Shapiro delt without getting anything return. Belliard was my favorite Indian...not a lot of flash, but he was a ball player, even going by old school standards. The big deciding factor was Belliard's $4 million dollar salary, and Hector Luna's 340K salary. If Dolan doesn't sell this team, they'll be like the Pirates in a few years. Tominator
Re: a sad state of affairs It's pathetic isn't it? Back to the Indians of the 70's and 80's I guess. Oh well, such is the life of a Cleveland fan.
buckbuster11
Re: a sad state of affairs What the heck do you need another catcher for anyway? Hey, welcome to my world for the last 14 years bud. We just sent Sean Casey to Detroit for a AA pitcher straight up.

I wish Cleveland's losing ways was only 14 years. Try over 50 years of losing, how's that?

Matter of fact, I think he played just about every other position for the Cards except cather...all while belting an impressive 4 HR's
buckbuster11
Re: a sad state of affairs I must of been thinking of somebody else then. BTW--Chris, 14 years of playing below .500 ball. If they do that for 3 more years they set the record for that. I'm pretty sure the Indians can't compete with that.

MUDRUNNER
Re: a sad state of affairs He's not a guy that's going to hit 20 HR's a year, but he has been decent with the bat for the cards this year. He's been right around .300 all year long.I think they got a bargain for 340K. BTW---I'd be willing to bet the Tribe hasnt gone more then 5-7 years without a .500 record since they have been keeping track.
muggs
Re: a sad state of affairs did I say the 90's were one of the decades I was referring to? Nope, sure didn't. 70's and 80's were the reason the movie Major League were made. is it 5 or 7 years you want to bet on...bottle of Tinks says they had more than 5 years in a row below .500.
