You should scout em out as the fall water levels rise and look to see where the birds are starting to hang out. Best ponds I've found are those between bigger water - the ducks cruise by en route and can called down for a rest and some food... I like hunting smaller areas for a lot of reasons, mostly because I can have the place to myself...
