HitRmisS
I missed another doe this weekend, that makes three for the season, four if you count the one where my arrow fell of the string at full draw(without me noticing)and i let her fly, or at last tryed too. needless to say broke string on that one. Guess it could have been a lot worse. I also had the same problem with the arrow coming off this weekend but i noticed it, almost missed my shot though because of that. does anyone know what could be the cause of this? dogdoc
Re: yet another miss have you been practicing? I have found practicing on a 3-D target really helps. Maybe find a 3-D range and do some shooting. hope your luck changes but better to miss completely then make a bad hit! todd

NY911Bowhunter
Re: yet another miss What bow do you shoot? Is it a short axle to axle - if so - look into a string loop for your release!
dogdoc
Re: yet another miss you might also think about putting a whisker biscuit rest on your bow. I don't shoot one but they totally surround your arrow to prevent it from falling off. People who shoot them love them. todd
HitRmisS
Re: yet another miss i shoot a hoyt ultra sport (36" axle to axle) not real short but thanks for the advice, someone else suggested a string loop to me and said just the release pulling up on the arrow could be the cause of it.i guess ill have to give it a try. thanks again

horst
Re: yet another miss Did the arrow fall off the rest or the string?I shoot a whisker biscuit also but if its falling off the string that wont solve the problem. Ive had mine fall off the string twice this year even with the biscuit. Both tmes were completely my fault.I see a deer, clip the release on, and dont pay any attention to what happens after that.Turns out once in awhile I torque the string with the release and it pops the arrow off the string.I have a metal loop on my string and cant help but think switching to a string loop would eliminate his happening, could be what your doing to. Tominator
Re: yet another miss join the club. i'm beating personal bests for missing this year. i've missed 3 times too. i've never missed more than one deer a season. doing some soul searching myself. i had surgery back in May and i can't feel my old anchor point very well, and i think that's why i'm missing. i'm planning on adding a kisser button soon to see if that helps, but to be honest, i don't know what i'm doing wrong. keep at it. [ QUOTE ] does anyone know what could be the cause of this? [/ QUOTE ] I'd say lack of practicing could be the biggest problem. Shoot that bow... ALOT... before the season. Jeramie
Re: yet another miss Im sure the Whisker Biscuit is going to help but it sounds to me like your release is tweaking your string causing the nock to slip off. I agree 100% with the string loop. It should help a ton and will probably fix your problem. At least your getting to draw on deer. Ive only drawn one time and I had to let him walk because it would have been a bad shot....

Swamphunter
Re: yet another miss [ QUOTE ] If the arrow is falling off the string check your strings serving...probably needs replacing [/ QUOTE ] Also if your nocks are a bit loose on the string to begin with... and you draw your bow then lower it, it may only be sitting on the string half way. make sure to click it back on the string if you draw it then put it down again before a shot.
