spyderpancake
I got a Bass Pro sales paper last weekend and it had a Remington autoloader that I had never seen before. It looked similar to an 11-87, but only costed $300. I can't remember the model for the life of me, 5-- i think. has anybody seen this? I can't find it on the remington site... AJ
Re: Cheap New Remington??? As long as you don't expect Rem 1100 or 11-87 quality you will be ok. The name on the outside means little.

AJ
Re: Cheap New Remington??? Rem 1100 and 11-87 guns are made in USA. This gun is made by Baikal in Russia. This is one of the 'new' ways Remington is trying to save a buck. They are importing guns made overseas. And these are not the top quality imports like Browning and Winchester, but some cheap imports from Eastern Europe.

MUDRUNNER
Re: Cheap New Remington??? Wow,that's a pretty interesting video clip.I don't think I would try that with my guns, but it looked like it held up pretty good. He should have been fishing in that ice hole instead of dipping his gun in it.
AJ
Re: Cheap New Remington??? I'll bet my real Remington or pretty much any of my guns will still function when treated to that test. Do that over the course of a year or so and see how it holds up. Fresh dirt and water is not that big of a deal.
double_drop
Re: Cheap New Remington??? remington just bought out a cheaper line of guns and put their names on them so it could be one of those.

AJ
Re: Cheap New Remington??? [ QUOTE ] Which would be better? That, or a Charles Daly? [/ QUOTE ] Basically its 6 of one half dozen of the other. Both are cheap imports.
double_drop
Re: Cheap New Remington??? charles daly are JUNK do not buy buddy had one and after about 1200 round through it with one pull of the trigger it would fire twice no no cool dangerous and not accurate at all. longhorn57
Re: Cheap New Remington??? A friend of mine has a charles daly and he has had nothing but problems with it! This past waterfowl season his gun was a single shot autoloader, but he got smart and got himself a rem 11-87 sps.
hunterfisherman
Re: Cheap New Remington??? Nothing can beat the original remingtons. I've had an 870 for 30 years and it still works great. That gun has shot more animals then I can even remember. You can get an 870 for not much more and it might be worth a couple of extra dollars
Mach1
Re: Cheap New Remington??? Mt brother was tempted to buy this gun at the BPS sale, but after reading that it was a Russian import he passed. I think he bought a Traditions muzzleloader instead. Guest Tech29OhYeah
Re: Cheap New Remington??? Wouldn't you think remington would stand behind something they sell? I don't think I'd be all that scared of it. But, I ain't gonna run out and buy one either.
StillLearnin
Re: Cheap New Remington??? I have a Charles Daly and yes it did break twice this last year but they fixed it for free and payed shipping and handling both ways. All of the charles dalys purchased after a certain date have a liftime warrenty from what I understand. Am I happy with my gun, Sure , Would I buy another CD, for the money get either an Rem 870 or Moss. 500.
WaCoyote
Re: Cheap New Remington??? The point is not whether they'll fix it if it breaks. To me it's just the thought of possibly needing repairs that turns me off. A semi auto shotgun for that price is just going to have problems. Theres no doubt in my mind. I'd go with a pump shotgun that is tried and true like an 870 or a nova or something of the like.

mike
Re: Cheap New Remington??? i had an 1100 and wouldn't give a nickel for another one! got an 11-87 and thats gun! i love it. the 1100 jammed like crazy. cost me a triple pheasant huntin! you had to clean the heck out of it all the time the gas hole in the breach would always plug. never had that happen with the 11-87 though. maybe its just what gun you get. like a hard startin or cold blooded motor
