1x TC scopes

Recommended Posts

I need some advice here.

Instead of hunting NE with a gun, I'm going in DEC with a MZL this year. Their regs states that scopes must be 1X only.

Therefore, I'm leaning towards the TC scope. IT is a 1X x 32mm I believe. Anyway, the others are Burris and Nikon but both are 20mm and I really don't like them.

Has anyone used the TC and if so, do you like it.

I shoot 100gr so the recoil won't be to bad on the scope but it says they are recoil resistant.

Re: 1x TC scopes

Any scope is better than open sights IMHO.

Reason being, every sight I have ever looked at covers the vitals up past 75 yards. I very well could have to take a 200 yard shot and I kinda expect at least 100. I don't have a problem shooting my Knight 200 yards but knowing where I'm hitting is what I'm worried about.

Re: 1x TC scopes

1x is 1x at 200 yds the vitals are going to be covered up with that scope as well. I know of two deer taken over 140 yds with open sights with a TC muzzleloader. If you prefer a scope, great. I was not trying to be difficult just making a suggestion.

Re: 1x TC scopes

Why not a red dot? You could get a large objective scope for a wide field of view and you can get them with a dot as small as 3moa which obviously gives a 6" dot at 200 yards. I've had one on a 22lr pistol for about 2 years and have shot about 3K rounds after sighting it in and never had to adjust it. I've since moved it over to a 30-30 and have shot a couple boxes of shells through it without any problems. Here's a link to a nice bushnell red dot. Mine is a cheap $29 wal-mart bsa and has been flawless.

Here's a link to some more red dots. sportsmans guide

257, you are probably right. I didn't mean that post like it sounded. Sorry if it did. wink.gif

I am also looking at some red dots. I have no experience with them. However, one friend who is going just bought a Burris and I'm going to shoot his Omega with it and see how I like it.

Heck, at this point, I'm open to anything. I've been shooting open sights on my Knight for the last two years. I'm just looking for any advantage. The dang deer seem to have plenty of them. lol smile.gif
