archerjg
Re: muzzleloader help???? The Thompson Center Black Diamond is a good gun for the starter or advanced shooter and they are around $200. Archerjg
johnf
Re: muzzleloader help???? I'm a big fan of these New England guns. For the price, they can't be beat. They also have a stainless version for a little over $200 if you want to spend more. The break open design makes it a lot easier to clean than the bolt action type ML's. Hoyt03
Re: muzzleloader help???? If I were you I would save up a little longer and try to get a T/C Omega. These guns shoot great and if taken care of will last you forever. I know your just getting into muzzelloading and you just want to get a cheaper gun to get yourself started, but I can almost guarantee your going to be hooked in no time. After a year you will be wanting to upgrade to a better gun and now you already 200$ or so in the hole for your cheaper gun that you wont use. Buy the Omega, take good care of it and if you happen to not like muzzleloading then you will be able to sell it and get a good portion of your money back. Plus T/c has great customer service, and great DVD instruction on the how to of muzzleloading.
123 4/8 P&Y
Re: muzzleloader help???? I bought a CVA Optima for my first muzzleloader. It seems pretty accurate and very easy to clean. The 209 primers are definately the best ignition system for reliability.

[/ QUOTE ] I own a T/C Black Diamond in .50 Cal. and very pleased with it's performance. You can find M/L (in-lines) for under $200 at Rural King Stores if there is any in your area. hunterfisherman
Re: muzzleloader help???? My first ML is the t/c omega. I have had no problems with it at all. It's easy to clean and very accurate. Great gun to have plus you can get some nasty long shots with it.

Guest gt2003
Re: muzzleloader help???? I bought a knight wolverine probably 4-5 years ago. A great rifle and very accurate. I bought it in the "starter kit" that came with bullets, cleaning jag, cleaning patches, video etc. I think the new wolverine starter kits are more expensive. Buy something good quality and you won't regret it. Good luck, GT
