I got this from someone else here's what it said about the pic.

[ QUOTE ]

What had happened was the cub was not going to survive the winter since the mother was killed. He was apparently asked by the outfitter to till the cub since it wouldn't survive anyways.....

I think this kind of Picture was not called for. It doesn't look very respectable what so ever to me. What do you think?

Looks to me like its already dead with the blood on the bear .. why you have to pretend is kissing you I have no idea .... your absolutely correct there is no reason for this that isn't at all what hunting is about ... they should have let nature take its course .... see thats when things get messed up when humans try and "fix" nature ...

I think that may have been uncalled for. Why wouldn't the game warden tranquilize it and take it to a game preserve or zoo or something? Anytime anyone finds an orphaned fawn or bear here they take it to game preserve and they raise them/rehabilitate and whatever.

IMO....that picture is tasteless.

Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill?

What bothers me more than the picture (which I think was uncalled for no matter what the reason for the cubs death), the thing that irritates me is that they claim the outfitter made the decision to have the cub killed. How do they know it wouldn't survive the winter, and even if it didn't, it would have been left up to mother nature to decide.

Is the blood on the cub it's own blood? Or the blood from it's dead mom? Are we sure the cub is dead or just assuming? Too many missing variables to make a statement IMO. I'm not going to comment any further until I hear the rest of the story....

Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill?

Was this Bear legally killed?

We dont have that information or where and when.

I'll be honest with you all...If this was a Bear that was legally taken the picture of it is no different than the pic of a small deer in the bed of a pickup truck.

It's not a pose with the animal I would choose to remember the hunt by for the future but it is the hunters choice. There's a huge difference between "Tacky" and "Proud".

If I legally took that Bear it would be honored by a full body mount!

That sure is blood on that bear as well as the log below it. Take a close look.

We all celebrate in different ways but this is a little odd.

Is it because it is a cub and we are supposed to adore cute little blackie?

I say this, if it was harvested legally, I'm sorry that you hate the picture. Now since the majority of people on here have said it was uncalled for removing this post would do a disservice to those that commented.

Poor choice in posing. Sure is, but a celebration is just that and we all should be allowed to do it differently.

I bet when the hunter shot it he was not cheering though maybe he was. It could have been shot by accident or on purpose after a sow was shot accidentally. Both happen yet if it was legally taken..who am I scold.

Have you ever driven over 55 mph in a posted 55 pmh zone? oe how about in a work zone. Or how about discharged a bb gun in a village with an ordinance against it and then talked about it publically?
