NiteRunner
I got this from someone else here's what it said about the pic. [ QUOTE ] What had happened was the cub was not going to survive the winter since the mother was killed. He was apparently asked by the outfitter to till the cub since it wouldn't survive anyways..... [/ QUOTE ] I think this kind of Picture was not called for. It doesn't look very respectable what so ever to me. What do you think?
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? Looks to me like its already dead with the blood on the bear .. why you have to pretend is kissing you I have no idea .... your absolutely correct there is no reason for this that isn't at all what hunting is about ... they should have let nature take its course .... see thats when things get messed up when humans try and "fix" nature ... Guest Andrea
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? I think that may have been uncalled for. Why wouldn't the game warden tranquilize it and take it to a game preserve or zoo or something? Anytime anyone finds an orphaned fawn or bear here they take it to game preserve and they raise them/rehabilitate and whatever. IMO....that picture is tasteless. wtnhunt
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? Have to agree with what Steve and Andrea say here. The pose in the picture is uncalled for and does seem a zoo somewhere could have took the cub.
texastrophies
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? I wouldn't make to harsh of a judgement until you hear the actual story. Granted the picture doesn't look good, but there may be more to it than meets the eye.
Swamphunter
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? What bothers me more than the picture (which I think was uncalled for no matter what the reason for the cubs death), the thing that irritates me is that they claim the outfitter made the decision to have the cub killed. How do they know it wouldn't survive the winter, and even if it didn't, it would have been left up to mother nature to decide.
Palssonater
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? Why would you even take a picture of a so called mercy kill?? Never mind be smiling and holding the bear like a baby. Idiotic...
monsterbucks1
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? what a disheartning picture. that is not right you just dont do that to an animal like that. Bad call on killing it very bad call. there is no way you ever make that decision leave it to mother nature. Stranger things happen, it could of survived. buckee
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? A shame to see something like this. If the bear was sick and on it's last legs, that would be different, but the outfitter is not above the law. The picture is rather tasteless, considering the circumstances
Ohiobucks
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? Is the blood on the cub it's own blood? Or the blood from it's dead mom? Are we sure the cub is dead or just assuming? Too many missing variables to make a statement IMO. I'm not going to comment any further until I hear the rest of the story.... [ QUOTE ] asked by the outfitter to till the cub since it wouldn't survive anyways..... [/ QUOTE ] till? kill? take?
Hoyt03
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? That picture is absolutely rediculous. What an idiot.

Nosdog2
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? Terrible, the outfitter I hunted with in Maine has a strict policy about no shooting bears with cubs.
GWSmith
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? Was this Bear legally killed? We dont have that information or where and when. I'll be honest with you all...If this was a Bear that was legally taken the picture of it is no different than the pic of a small deer in the bed of a pickup truck. It's not a pose with the animal I would choose to remember the hunt by for the future but it is the hunters choice. There's a huge difference between "Tacky" and "Proud". If I legally took that Bear it would be honored by a full body mount!
doughboy1956
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? I would have to get the whole story. Next week you might see the cub was operated on. Who knows for sure yet?
Turkeygirl
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? That guy in the picture is just sick! It really is un-called for. Of course, like others mentioned, there may be more to the story, but the photo is a bit disturbing in my mind.
VtBowhunter
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? It was uncalled for, and probably not the best idea to place that photo on a website that is frequented by anti hunting sorts. I do agree with you in this.........sickening. Shaun_300
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? I agree, it is very sickening. Like Ken said, I would have let mother nature make the call whether it was going to make the winter or not. To me, that pic isn't funny at all! stevebeilgard
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? peta poster for sure. that guy is not a hunter, and that is not blood on that bear.
Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Anyone seen this Picture of a kill? That sure is blood on that bear as well as the log below it. Take a close look. We all celebrate in different ways but this is a little odd. Is it because it is a cub and we are supposed to adore cute little blackie? I say this, if it was harvested legally, I'm sorry that you hate the picture. Now since the majority of people on here have said it was uncalled for removing this post would do a disservice to those that commented. Poor choice in posing. Sure is, but a celebration is just that and we all should be allowed to do it differently. I bet when the hunter shot it he was not cheering though maybe he was. It could have been shot by accident or on purpose after a sow was shot accidentally. Both happen yet if it was legally taken..who am I scold. Have you ever driven over 55 mph in a posted 55 pmh zone? oe how about in a work zone. Or how about discharged a bb gun in a village with an ordinance against it and then talked about it publically?
