Anyone here raise their own worms?

We just built a pretty big bed. Filled it with leaves, newspapers, vegetable scraps, etc.

Got any tips? smile.gif Pics? Success stories? Horror stories?? grin.gif

Re: Worm beds

When I was a kid, my great-grandma in Arkansas use to take her table scraps out every night and bury them in the same area in the yard. They didn't eat leftovers, she cooked three meals a day. When we would visit in the summer we could go out there with a shovel and turn over the dirt and get a coffee can full of the biggest night crawlers I have ever seen.

My problem is that in my house I there are no table scraps. I eat everything. LOL

Re: Worm beds

Every site I have been on says not to put table scraps in one. ( My grandparents always did) Says over time the bed will over heat because of all the decomposition....blah blah blah. True???
