Exturkinator
Re: goose calls try the Canada Hammer II by Buck Gardner - it is a great call, blows easily, and sounds and blows a lot better than one might expect for a 20$ goose call... Strut10
Re: goose calls I'm stuck on the Big River goose flute. No learning curve and not to spendy to be that "full of goose".

Covehnter
Re: goose calls If you are going for a call to sound like a goose without much practice get the Big River goose flute. If you're wanting to put ALOT of time into it and go w/ a short reed to get alot more sounds from your call, i'd suggest the Zink PM-1 for about $30 bucks. . .i recently got this call after blowing the Canada Hammer II for a year and like this one much better. . . . much goosier sound! [/ QUOTE ] im gonna have to agree with cove on this one if your gonna get a flute i would definately go with the Big river thats what i started on and i killed a lot of birds, and also the the zink PM-1 i also had for like a year and i really liked it until i found Hayes short reed calls like i said and i had to make the change, but definately the big river for a flute, and for a starter short reed the PM-1 is good

billkay
Re: goose calls I'll second or third the Big River Goose Flute. Unbeatable! Haydels also makes some reasonably priced calls that are very good. A short reed will take longer to master but they are well worth the effort. lil hunter
Re: goose calls Short reeds are the thing these days. For a good one, at a decent price, I would definetly reccomend the Tim Grounds Half Breed. It'll cost you about 50-55 dollars, which is more than some calls, but a lot cheaper than acrylics, or even woods. It has a higher pitched tune, so it will be different than the lower pitched calls that i'm sure your buddies probably have. This gives you more variety and sounds. I would also look into winglock calls, as they have always been great sounding calls at a decent price. www.timgrounds.com www.winglockcalls.com
