rifleman25
This subject may have already been beat to death but since I don't chek in here alot I'm going to bring it up again. Have any of you ever used deer cocain? If so how good of an attractant is it? I used to use a product called X marks the spot but my local store quit selling it. I am now thinking about switching to the deer coain black magic. Now I was also wondering can I use it in the same site already established for the other attractant or should I open a new site up? If I should open up a new site how close to the old one can I use it?
ousoonerfan22
Re: Well? I tried deer cocaine at three different places I hunt and never seen any sign around it.The deer at the same places really use the salt licks mixed in the dirt. rifleman25
Re: Well? Thanks guys. I just got in from putting a bag out. I figure I won't even go into that area for a month now. I'll wait to check it til I refresh it, the bag said wait about 30 days.
rifleman25
Re: Well? It should be in a good spot. I set it in the shade of a tree about 8 yards off a well used trail and there was alot of sign around. I have my fingers crossed now. bowhtr1
Re: Well? You wont be sorry. Deer co-cain work great. Most of my pics of deer on my webshots page below are over mineral sites with co-cain on it. It works better than trace mineral salt. wtnhunt
Re: Well? Deer cain works ok, of the commercial mineral attractants out there it is not all that much different from several others on the market. Have had our best results here with the trophy rocks. And yes you can use it in an already established mineral site.
hunterfisherman
Re: Well? I have been interested in putting some of that out but wasn't sure how well it works. rifleman25
Re: Well? I'm also thinking of just puting out a deer cocain block after the 30 days are up if this is working. How long typically does it take for the deer to find a site. As I said mine is about 25 feet or so off a very well used trail at the opening to a standing corn field. ousoonerfan22
Re: Well? If you scrape up a spot in dirt the deer around here usually will find it within a day or two if they're in that area.
bowhtr1
Re: Well? I would not use the cocain block. I put some out and they were gone two weeks later. Something ran off with them. They cant run off with the powder stuff.
rifleman25
Re: Well? Saw some very small deer tracks right in the stuff today. Yes I cheated and figured I'd go check it out before I have to go back to work on Tuesday. There were a few good tracks close by and the site was definately disturbed. Hope to see some buck action there soon as I set a camera on the site today.
