Strut10
Try this the next time you're grilling. Get some banana peppers. Cut the tops off and split them down one side so they open up flat. Spoon out all the seeds and grill them, brushing each side with butter each time you turn them. Once the heat takes the curl out of them and they are laying out flat, sprinkle a couple teaspoons of shredded Asiago cheese on them (on the "inside" side). Let it just get melted. Take 'em off & serve as an appetizer while whatever else you're grilling finishes up. Wanna talk about tasty???? Dang!!!!!!! (I can't take complete credit for this. A friend of my wife's brought some the other day that she had done in the "mike". I adapted the gas grill part. )

[/ QUOTE ] Don't think so, Chris. IMO.......green peppers (sweet peppers) taste like gastric reflux once they've been cooked. Too reminiscent of stomach acid for me. The banana peppers have a waaaaay milder taste. They're in season and oughta be reasonable at the supermarket.
Smitteken
Re: Grilled peppers.......... [ QUOTE ] green peppers (sweet peppers) taste like gastric reflux [/ QUOTE ] I agree. I love banana peppers though. A friend of mine has done something similar. He stuffs them with cheese and wraps bacon around them.
