The Big 10 always claims its superiority and I quietly chuckle to myself as they are shown to be frauds during the bowl season. Then they claim to have 'beat up on each other' all season, as if the rest of the confrences haven't.

and what happened in the iowa florida game a couple years ago?? think the sec is over rated?

Way to pick out 1 game and use that as a reason the entire SEC is overrated. And what made you pick the SEC? Is it because I'm from Ga? One could assume that I'm not a SEC fan based on my avatar, couldn't they?

And why did you not mention the Big 12? Could it be because since 1990 4 Big 12 (and former Big 8) teams have combined for 6 National Titles, while the Big 11 has only managed 2? During the same timespan, the overrated SEC has 4. Even the PAC 10 and ACC have more than the Big 11 since 1990.

Let's look a little at confrence bowl records. Since 2001 the Big 11 has a winning % of 47% (16-18), the Big 12- 48% (19-20), the Pac 10- 50% (14-14), the SEC- 56% (19-15) & ACC- 61% (20-13).

I guess that 1 Iowa/Florida game does represent the point you wanted to make better than actual numbers and research.

So, in recent history, the Big 11 is not where anything is at. They should learn hopw to count the number of teams in their confrence before they try to claim dominance in athletics.

Re: College Football Preseason Coaches Poll

Until there's a playoff system, you'll never be able to claim one conference is better than another.

You can throw bowl records out, but there's way to many variables to have that be an outright indication.

I will say one thing, the PAC-10 is definately a little weaker than the Big 12, Big 10, SEC, and the ACC. And that effects the entire NCAA...USC can walk through the Stanford's, the Oregon States, the UCLA's and go undefeated...and with the love they get from the media, they'll be playing for the National Title all the time.

The Big 12 is probably a little weaker right now than it has been just a few years ago. This year, I'd say the "Big 11" probably does have the most parity when you're talking about great teams...but that will change, probably next year even.

Re: College Football Preseason Coaches Poll

Smith from OSU is probably the most threating QB in the land b/c he can run like it was stated earlier, but Quinn will be the better QB at the next level...Granted OSU stomped us last season and we are very highly rated this year...As a ND fan we have a ton to prove this season and we probably have the most pressure to perform out of all the teams...We are a top 10 team for sure but to be a national contender we better figure out how to play some pass defense first!!! This is going to be the biggest test ND has faced in a long time in the first 4 games....All ranked teams and GTech is a darn good one down there......It should be a great season of football all around.....

lets not get started on the iowa florida game again because we all know iowa got cheated out of alot of calls and the ncaa admitted to it. Ya that is what i thought.
