horst
Ive got a pop up ground blind. Its really no good here, the area I hunt is all corn stalks and switch grass and every blind Ive looked at is a dark tree pattern. These blinds stick out badly here and really seem to spook the deer. They come past them but their very nervous the whole time thier near them and its hard to get a shot while thier staring at you. Anyone know of anyplace that carries Camo material in a corn stalk or even a wetlands camo pattern??Id like to make a slip over cover for my blind to blend it in better. Also I noticed theres a blind that looks like a round bale available for waterfowl hunters, It has elastic strips sewn all the way around it kinda like bullet loops in a game vest all the way up the sides and end of the blind. You can just stick clumps of grass or cornstalks in these loops and brush your blind in with natural vegatation..I might try this as well if I can find a lighter colored material to go under it. Just a project I thought I might work on after season when things get boring again LOL.

horst
Re: Looking for material Thanks guys, that may be exactly what I was looking for and a lot less work I still kinda like the idea of the elastic loops for brushing it in with grass or cornstalks though, might have to ask for one for X-mas and modify it a little
horst
Re: Looking for material Just got a reply from Ameristep on the hayhouse blind. They said it was used for bowhunting but Ive never seen one up close.if it is usable theyre on sale right now through the sportsmans guide and has all the features I want.Anyone seen one of these up close and could give my an idea how the windows are set up on them?Mainly Im curious about how high up on the blind they sit, will the top of the blind interfer with my bow lmbs??Also where are the windows located on it?Just thought maybe someone has seen one up close, we aint got many outdoor stores around here so I can go look at one in person
popgun
Re: Looking for material I had one of the Hayhouse blinds and returned it. I got the Brickhouse instead. Bow hunting from the hayhouse would be quite a trick. See: http://www.ameristep.com/blinds/hayhouse.html I think the Brickhouse would work better for you, and it has loops to stick bundles of grass or twigs. etc. for better camo. .....popgun
horst
Re: Looking for material Thanks popgun.i didnt think the hayhouse looked set up for bowhunting but Ameristep sent me a reply saying it worked just fine for that Ive looked at the brickhouse and was hoping to find something a little shorter in heigth, 84 inches sticks up a long ways outta the grass around here and they dont make it in a pattern that blends in very well.Im gonna try to find one of the reversible doghouses mentioned earlier and see what its like.I believe its about 20 inches shorter if I ead the dimensions right. popgun
Re: Looking for material horst, the Brickhouse measures 60"x60" with a height of 67". Windows all around with a zipper top window if needed for waterfowl. hope this helps. http://www.ameristep.com/blinds/brickhouse.html .....popgun
