Hoyt03
Looks like the US team got off to a good start by winning big in the practice game last night. I think they will do 100% better now that Larry Brown is not the coach trying to teach nothing but defense, and keeping the superstars like lebron and mello on the bench. You will not see coach K doing that year. US can put up more points then anyone any night. By the way they only gave up 60 some points too. muggs
Re: USA Basketball Yeah, they'll win the gold medal for sure. They finally realized that they just can't walk through other nations. The biggest improvement (after parting ways with Larry Bronze...err..Brown) was actually building the team with role players. They've got defenders, shooters, slashers, true point guards, and LeBron will lead them. Coach K will have them playing a system that better suited for international play too. buckbuster11
Re: USA Basketball Yeah they'll win for 2 reasons. 1. The most overrated coach ever, Larry Brown, isn't coaching. 2. The young talent the NBA is starting to roll in now (LeBo, Wade, etc...) actually care and want to win. No more A.I. Kobe's or Starbury's running the show. [/ QUOTE ] Both correct, but I think #2 is the most important. These guys could win with any coach, if they have the right attitude.
okbowman
Re: USA Basketball #2 is definitely the thing. They'll play as a team and not as individuals!! The greatest college coach, John Wooden, said "the guy who scores the basket has 10 hands", its all about team!!
