Got some neat pics of what you might call a "well-defined frontal boundary" last evening. Lots of movement in the clouds, but no rotation to speak of. Suits me fine. Pretty awesome to watch. The pics don't actuallt do justice to what this looked like looking, basically, straight up off my front porch steps.

The coolest storm was seen by me from the beach. One side of the sky was sunny (land side) and the other was a giant storm way off the coast that encompassed the entire ocean horizon. It was near sundown so the hues on the clouds were oranges, pinks, and reds. The storm had multi layers so the lightning would light up the back of the storm and be somewhat filtered by the front clouds. The result was brilliant orange and yellow clouds like someone had a flashlight behind them.

MAGNIFICENT!

I come from a long line of weather watchers. We're pretty bad about going out on the porch in storms. Especially hurricanes. I've never witnessed a tornado though. crazy.gif

When Hurricane Opal hit in '95.....the oak tree in my in-law's front yard was threatening to topple over on the house. So.......my husband, father-in-law and brother-in-law all go out in this horrible storm with a CHAINSAW and cut this tree down before it could crash thru the roof. The winds were around 80 mph with gusts over 100....it was a miracle they got it done and no one died. crazy.gifmad.gifcrazy.gif
