DSGB
Re: Who\'s better??? It's like comparing apples to oranges. They are both impressive in their own ways. In Ripken Jr's case, he played every day, minus a few off days here and there and the offseason. In Favre's case, he had to show up once a week for games (I know they still practice 4+ days a week), but had to take a beating every game. Both showed dedication and endurance. It's really hard to pick which is "better".
HarvDog
Re: Who\'s better??? Favre without a doubt. This guy lost is dad and brother-in-law, broke his thumb, and now his wife is diagnosed with breast cancer and he hasn't missed a game. Not to mention that it's football...a full contact sport. Anybody can go out and play few little baseball games.
Chrud
Re: Who\'s better??? Brett Favre. Football is a tougher sport that baseball. Football is played in a lot more adverse conditions. Baseball has 10 times as many games per year. You aren't as prone to injury in baseball. Ripkin hasn't had to go through what Favre has. buckbuster11
Re: Who\'s better??? Wow thats tough. I guess I will have to go with Favre simply because football is ten times more physical and therefore the chances of getting hurt are obviously much greater. Strut_Buster
Re: Who\'s better??? Farve Hands Down. Great leader, Player, and Person. 200 games is a HUGE feat in football especialy for a quarterback. Everyone is out to get them.
slugshooter
Re: Who\'s better??? Ripken, didn't miss a game for over a decade in 162 game seasons, played hurt, went through his own personal struggles, played when he wasn't performing well, hands down the greatest accomplishment, I don't see that one ever being broken, not with the prima donnas out there today.
