njbowhntr
I am looking at using a ground blind this year. I have been looking at the Ameristep Doghouse. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this one or something similiar. Thanks in advance.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Ground Blinds? i have a doghouse....works pretty good...i have put it out in morning and have had deer walk past it no problem...alot of people will say go with a double bull....but they are way to expensive IMO...i hunt in a heavily wooded area so the doghouse blends in really well and cost half as much as the DB blinds....also..i would check out ameristeps new blind the intimidator...looked at one at bass pro this past weekend...looks nice
kuntryboy
Re: Ground Blinds? I got one also , and he is right ! It works great and is the best price of all of them!!
Jeramie
Re: Ground Blinds? I thought about buying the doghouse too. BP here has them on sale for $60 (or somewhere there in). Ive been wanting one. Im thinking about picking one up in the next week or two.
Ohiobucks
Re: Ground Blinds? I have one, my son and I used it during the spring turkey season. They are a great blind at a pretty good price. I would say go for it!
Guest wsb
Re: Ground Blinds? 've got the outhouse, but it's not big enough to bowhunt out of so I am going to get a doghouse.
toddyboman
Re: Ground Blinds? We have a dog house and a stackhouse. They work, we put ours up early so the deer get use to it. When they get use to it they pay NO attention to it. If you dont have that option just put it up then make it blend it with surrondings. Here is the pic of the stackhouse. Its bigger. A lot easier to hunt out of with bow and or 2 people.
Chrud
Re: Ground Blinds? Are you using it for bowhunting? You'd be better off to look at the Ameristep Brickhouse TSC. Here is mine in Advantage MAX-4 HD camo.
hunterfisherman
Re: Ground Blinds? I have a cheapy I bought for 30.00 a couple of years ago but it works just the same. It hides me and that's what I need. Although, I do like the ones I see in the pictures. I will need a new one when my son get a little older. Mine is just a one person. 257bob
Re: Ground Blinds? I would also recomend the Brickhouse instead. I have one, but that is not the real reason. I work in retail and have sold all of these blinds. Those styles of blinds are a pain in the ######### to fold up. The Brickhouse is the easiest to set up and take down. I have used both the Brickhouse and the DB Matrix. The Matrix truly is much better. Better cloth (quieter), better materials (moving parts work better in the cold), and they are made in the USA. I can't afford a DB, but if I could I would give my Brickhouse away because they just aren't as good.
johnf
Re: Ground Blinds? I've got a doghouse blind and love it. I've hunted with my dad and father-in-law in it and it has plenty room for two. The first couple times folding it up was a pain, but after doing it 3 or 4 times in my front yard I can do it in the field now in about 2 minutes by myself. If you're tall or want to bow hunt with more than one person in the blind you may want a bigger one.
RangerClay
Re: Ground Blinds? I am also planning on getting a ground blind very soon. Natchez has a great sale on them right now, better tha BP's. Natchez
bozz
Re: Ground Blinds? Chrud......your killing me with that pick of your blind....I had the exact same one stolen last year......really like it a lot......I was just at the new Bass-Pro store in Clarksville Ind.,....super sweet store....much bigger than ours in Cinn.,....with a moving 3-d African Safari laser shoot set up like 9 hole putt-putt course......what fun.......anyhow I did manage to feel the new Brickhouse blinds...called Intimidator with the new soft felt like material.....very soft....quiet and no shine....they were sweet.....also check out the new Blur 3-D (leaf cuts) at Dicks S.G.(got one on sale), and Cabelas full draw 2X & 5X.....almost the same......the Blur Tech. really makes the blind disappear......I got the Dicks S.G. one......they are sweet......you can see them on line at either place. Guest Broncho10
Re: Ground Blinds? Next ground blind I ever buy is going to be the Double Bull matrix. A local supply company is selling them for $325. Best price I have found yet. they are a bit more expensive, but man, it is sure worth it. The ease, quality, and the overall design out does any other company in the ground blind department. I hunted in one this past spring and will not go turkey hunting again without one. You can put it up and take it down in less than a minute. My 2 cents.
Washi
Re: Ground Blinds? http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?con...FTOKEN=90085536 I think that will work. They don't have any in stock at the moment but they probably will soon. This is the best price I have seen on this blind by far. I got one and I can tell I'm gonna like it. Chrud
Re: Ground Blinds? Bozz, The new Ameristep blinds are suppose to have material that is similar to that of a Double Bull. I had to look a long time to find that blind in MAX-4 HD. Found it on sale from Bass Pro last spring, $120 I believe.

I'll post pics when I am complete. Beats paying $1500.00 for a SCENTite!
