Guest Andrea
Ever have a recurring nightmare? I do. The ones that happen the most are: 1. Going over a REALLY REALLY high bridge. ( Terrifying) 2. Looking in the mirror and my teeth are falling out/or they are teeny tiny. 3. I've left my children somewhere and cannot get back to them. ( This one happened when my kids were babies)
buckee
Re: Nightmares I had the same dream a few times when my daughter was young. I kept dreaming, I was out in the bush with my daughter, and these wolves would surround us. I would kill them all one by one, by hand. I always used to wake up pretty agitated after that one. hutchies
Re: Nightmares Only time I have bad nightmares is when I take Tylenol PM or something to help me sleep. I don't know why but they give me awful nightmares. I have been having a weird recurring dream. I keep dreaming that I am in front of my grandmothers casket at her funeral. I have had this dream 3 or 4 times in the last week. She is not in good health and doesn't have long. I pray she goes easily.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Nightmares I have one where a big black dog attacks me. I get my left arm up and he grabs it and is mauling my arm when I pull my sidearm and shoot him off of me at point blank range. I've been having this dream about once every 6 months or so for the past 10 - 15 years, but it hasn't kept me from owning a black lab! Tominator
Re: Nightmares Yep. 2 or 3 recurring ones. 1st--signing up for a class when I'm in college, showing up the first day, then forgetting about the class all quarter, and receiving an F on my report card. Just recently had that one since I'm taking masters classes now. 2nd--is like you, losing a child by various means. I really hate that one. 3rd one I can't post about. As far as your teeth, I have that one too, but mine crack like porcelain and fall out of my head. Pretty sure it's because I grind my teeth at night, always have. Newarcher
Re: Nightmares I had a strange period when I was under some very extreme (and I DO MEAN EXTREME) stress due to my job. I got so stressed that I couldn't eat....I lost about 37 pounds in 4 1/2 weeks. I was stressed. The dreams started next but they were weird dreams. Very vivid and very raw and real. They were dreams about my job, home, and my day. It got so vivid and so real, I had to sit up in bed for a while to determine whether I was waking up into a dream our out of one. This went on for weeks. That, my friend, was freaky! Finally left the job after three years of it. The dreams finally faded. New

OJR
Re: Nightmares After I got busted up in the AF, I would dream of what happened time and time again and would wake up just before I crashed! The sweat would be pouring off of me! This happened for several years and I have not had this dream in a long time, which I really don't miss at all!! Newarcher
Re: Nightmares IT project management for a property and casualty insurance company. Worst job, worst company, worst management on the planet. I have a buddy...well, ex-buddy.....who referred me with "Oh yeah, it is great. The people are great, I love them...they love me. Promotional opportunities are fantastic and unlimited. Great working environment". He was on probation ready to be fired, he hated them/they hated him, the President hated our department and had a stated policy that no one would be promoted from it anywhere, trench warfare was the name of the game, and managers were waging battles against each other trying to get each other fired and employees were getting caught in the middle. Oh and because everyone knew he and I were friends, no one talked to me for literally 4 months unless it was in an offical capacity....usually only in meetings. If I ever see him again, I WILL GO TO JAIL for assault with intent to do grave bodily injury. I only hired in because I thought my old company was going to do mass layoffs. It was **** on earth. One day someone stretched a computer created banner over the employee entrance that read "abandon hope, all who would enter in". Management responded by threatening to eliminate flex time and make everyone work 9-5. Other things they would do is to disallow untested software upgrades to one of my projects unless it was tested on a test system first. The problem was that the test system I would need would cost somewhere around $100K. So they denied that request (it was a different manager than mine that denied the request). But then my manager wanted to bust on me because production machines were crashing. My manager and the manager that denied the test system budget were at war trying to get each other fired. That kind of BS. Get the picture? Didn't help that I had a wife, a child, and another one on the way to add to the stress. I lasted almost 4 years. I never lost my sanity but on several occasions I had some pretty severe chest pains that I thought was a heart attack. Had I not known my heart was good...ekg with my physical....I would have called 9/11 from my desk. We had two people die there from heart attacks AT THEIR DESK. Jeramie
Re: Nightmares I always had one where I was driving a white cargo van. I pulled up to a stoplight. At that point I took a shot from a sniper. I would fall out on the ground. I could still see the crowd gathering around me...... It would end at that point. I dream about Snakes a lot too. I'm not even afraid of them but in my dreams I'm surrounded by Poisonous snakes...
Palssonater
Re: Nightmares Not so many any more. When I was in college and stressed out, I had a ton. I've had the wolves surrounding me one. Jumping and losing gravity, going way to high only to fall and wake up just before impact. I've been shot in the back a few times by really good friends. Wake up and I am out of breath and my back is actually burning. Dreams where I am totally blind and nothing can get me to open my eyes and see. Running, skating, trying to live blind. Newarcher
Re: Nightmares Having never been there and seen it, I could see where it would seem pretty funny. Except, I know who put it there and they didn't do it to be funny, they did it just as a way of lashing out. Most people had been there too long to quit and were making to much money to be able to replace 2/3 of their salary elsewhere. They did pay very well, I must be fair and give them that. Sad place and a sad bunch of almost human beings running the place. New

GWSmith
Re: Nightmares I dont have any recurring nightmares...but I can induce one at will...any time by simply going to bed with my hair(what little is left) wet or even slightly damp. One good thing though...with my family genetics the problem should be completely eliminated in just a few years
