RangerClay
Howdy, Forgive me for double posting but I am not getting any responses in the Lounge. Thought I would try a different crowd. I was asked by a local outdoor sportsman's club for advise. They are interested in organizing a youth day (hunting, shooting) event but they are not exactly sure what to do. They contacted me because I have been involved with National Teen Anglers for several years. However I have never organized a shooting event. I suggested that they contact the NWTF because they have the JAKES program. I then told them that I would go home and brainstrorm some other ideas. I have some ideas on jotted down on paper but I would like to hear what some of your clubs do to bring youth into the sport. Do you have any suggestions that I can pass along? Thanks Ranger

hunterfisherman
Re: I need some help If you have a sporting goods store like Dicks, Gander, BassPro or Cabela's they will usually post something for you in the store as well. You might try local boyscotts as well. When I was Turkey hunting this spring I came onto some boyscotts having a shooting competition. archerjg
Re: I need some help Maybe try contacting the local DNR and see if they have some ideas or if they could send someone to teach the young people about gun safety and be a range boss for a day or two. Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: I need some help NYB may be able to help you out. Though they are primarily interested in bow hunting they are not objectionable to others inquiring about the how to's of organizing events such as this.
