Guest Andrea
Re: 9/11 Here's what's weird......the "media' and "Hollywood" are the very same ones that are so against us being in Iraq...yet they don't see a problem with making a movie to remind us all what started this. You'd think they'd be against it. BTW..........there were a TON of movies being made about WWII--- DURING the war.....as it was happening. Not 50 or 60 years later. But I guess when there's millions at stake, their personal beliefs take a back seat. As for your point about the movies made during WWII, those are even better examples of media exploitation. They might not have been concerned about the $$ figures, but they were definatey trying to control census thought. Those films are really good examples of WWII propaganda, mostly Anti-Japanese propaganda.
stevebeilgard
Re: 9/11 i'm glad all these movies are coming out. i wish they would show the towers falling every night on the news. americans have basically forgotten 9/11 already, which is exactly what our enemies want
ruttinbuc
Re: 9/11 You cannot compare WWII to the war today. It was a very different world, compared to now. Things were a whole lot different as far as our democracy goes. Americans were a lot closer knit than the loose fit it has become today. We cared about each other and our place in the world as a people then. Where are we at today? People keep calling it a world against terrorism when it is actually a war against hate. Terrorism is just a method to express that hate. It may be a good movie, but I will not go see it. I don't need to be reminded of the events of 9/11, the innocents who died or the brave who died trying to save them. These images are forever etched in my mind. The only association one can make with 60 years ago at war and today is the profits made by those who will go to any length to play on peoples fear and emotion. The profiteers if you will. It is that very same greed that creates that hate and finds us in the predicament in the first place.
