Steven
Re: Jury duty Every time I've been summoned I show up and always get dismissed. Don't know why, unless it's that the prosecutor or defense attorney can't get a read on me because of the hair. I could go anywhere from hippie to hardcore southern redneck and no one wants to take the chance. Now I have the perfect alibi, though, it's hard to show up when I'm halfway across the country headed west.
preacherman
Re: Jury duty The last time I got called for jury duty, it was on a murder trail. They had all of us stand up and state our name and occupation before the lawyers. I stood up and said my name and that I pastor a church and then politely dismissed me then and there. Not too bad though.......15 minute drive and a $50 check in my pocket!
Bruce Schmeck
Re: Jury duty I was thinking I'd like to get on the trial for that sob that shot that cop last weekend but after overhearing his widow the other day, I'd have a hard time being fair and impartial. I was on a murder trial one time but got dismissed for medical reasons at the time.
Bruce Schmeck
Re: Jury duty [ QUOTE ] I do believe the rate of pay here is $15 a day. That won't even pay for the gas to drive to the courthouse. [/ QUOTE ] Regardless of the pay, it's your civic duty to be there if summoned. [/ QUOTE ] Geez, 'bout time someone caught on, I was getting close to posting a pic of me in my usual Sunday dress. actually, its not really me who has a thing for old Pittster...but I don't think it would be a stretch to say most women do. besides, any forum where a man can't openly express his love for his cat...is no forum I care to be a part of my friend. Exturkinator
Re: Jury duty If you show up for selection and answer the questions intelligently, show that you have a logical thought process, and show that you are a decent, morally acceptalbe citizen you know what will happen? (see below) you won't get picked!

I just hate when people complain about what they get paid for serving on a jury. And yes, it should probably be a little more, but if I were on trial, I would like to have a little more than the average Jerry Springer crowd sitting on my jury. Nothing personal!
