8ptbuckpa
read this and let me know what you think are they legal or not. Broadheads must meet the following definition: Shall have an outside diameter or width of at least 7/8 inch with no less than two cutting edges. Cutting edges shall be in the same plane throughout the length of the cutting surface. Broadheads may not exceed 3 inches in length measured from the tip of the broadhead to the point that fits against the arrow shaft.
VtBowhunter
Re: expandables in pa Sounds like they're legal to me........but the Crimson Talon heads would be out with that definition.

PAbowhunter4life
Re: expandables in pa Mechanical broadheads are legal in PA. I have friends in the PGC and have spoken with several officers on the matter and they don't count the in flight cutting diameter, they go by what the cutting diameter is upon blade deployment. So if the broadhead has a 5/8" cutting diameter when closed, but opens up to anything 7/8" and up, it is perfectly legal. Also, the Crimson Talons were given the o.k. because their blades straighten out upon impact
VtBowhunter
Re: expandables in pa [ QUOTE ] Also, the Crimson Talons were given the o.k. because their blades straighten out upon impact [/ QUOTE ] Do they really? I didn't know that. Guess that's why their blades feel kind of flexible. Good info., thanks for sharing.
