I don't know what its called but wile i was at the local proshop i was listening to a guy talking to one of the employees he has this thing in his arrow its a rubber rod that goes in your arrow and when u shoot a deer and don't get a pass through what happens to the arrow it breaks off from the deer runnin ad u tend to lose the blood ttrail. correct? well what this does is when the arrow breaks the it crimps(spelling?) and creates like an artificial artery so the blood keeps being pumped out. Have any of you guys ever heard of it before he says it from a small company in texas and they have a patent pending on it. sounds like it should work to me how bout you guys?

I'm kind of skeptical honestly. One, for the weight it will add to your arrow. It will affect speed, and foc. And two..it just seems a little gimicky to me. If you come across the name, or a website, post it, please.

i was thinkin the same thing....here is the first question that came to mind.....you put a tube inside of your arrow...and lets say when you shoot a deer....you get about 12 inches of penetration and then the arrow breaks....how does that blood get insdie of the arrow to flow out of the broken end? your broadhead is still connected inside...maybe i am missing something but it doesn't add up....even is your arrow passes through enough to where the broadhead end comes out the other way and the broadhead part breaks off...how is the blood getting through?? confused.gif

Exactly what came to mind with me too. How can the arrow act as an artificial artery unless it's broken at both ends? If that's the case, I think you need to be looking at, not only new arrows, but new broadheads as well.

Re: new gadget for bowhunting

It seems to me that years ago a company made an arrow shaft that had indents around the shaft about every two inches...the thought was that any part of the shaft sticking out of the deer would break off and allow the blood to channel out the shaft.

I cant remember the name of the company who made it but it didnt last long.
