Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
i know that you have to shoot a couple different combos through your gun to find the right load....but will a lighter grain projectile fly flatter than a higher grain one with 100 grains or 777 pellets..or vice versa? or does it just depend on the gun? i shoot an encore by the way if this helps
too_pointer
Re: ? about loads... Well, unless gravity has changed due to our polluting everything , the lighter bullet would fly flatter, using the same powder charge. too_pointer

[/ QUOTE ] No, not necessarily. Trajectory is based on one basic factor-- time of flight. There are really only two components to time of flight; muzzle velocity and ballistic coefficient. That said, an example would be a Powerbelt 245 gr. bullet vs. a 260 gr. .45 / 50 Winchester Platinum Tip, a 250 SST / Shockwave, or even a Barnes 285 gr. Spitfire. Though all these examples are heavier than the Powerbelt, all fly much flatter with the same powder charge.
