Re: Would you buy it?

$9.99 DVD at my local Menards and it wasn't even a sale price. Give it a few weeks from now and Wal-Mart will have it even lower. Got Monster Bucks 11 for $6.00 last year at Wal-Mart.

I think what you see on these shows is the real deal. Remember it takes alot of editing to make an 1 1/2 video with 20 hunts. Sure it looks short on video but these guys spend days and hours in the stand trying to find deer. Then you have it where either the camera guy can't get on the kill shot or low light happens, so please give the professionals credit, it is not as easy as it sounds!!

Re: Would you buy it?

Funny, I seen Bill Jordan miss and it was never edited it out of the show. Must have missed that in the editing room. I'm just saying guys don't start bashing the guys you see on TV because you think they spend $3500 to hunt a 150 class deer. Do you even know what they spend or if they get invited for free? You probably don't know the answer.

I have seen Buckmasters where Jackie himself has take small deer under 120 class, so to say all these shows just hunt "bullwinkle" is not true. As for outtakes I'll take Team Realtree anyday, they have T-bone and Willie to entertain us between hunts!!!

Re: Would you buy it?

What you (2) ought to do and I'm serious on this is contact Campbell's I think that is the name of the show on the men's channel, they have teams of guys and gals who videotape themselves on hunts and get points on how the video turns out. They are looking for teams, they mention that on the show. Its on the Men's Channel, 218 on Dish Network. You guys sound serious about this, check out that show and get some pointers. These are everyday guys videoing and shooting deer we see plus the occasional monster.

I think Drury has a similar type of show on the Outdoor Channel. Check that out as well.

Re: Would you buy it?

Boomer,

I don't appreciate the PM you sent me. Look back at what I wrote, you guys need to realize in order to make people want to buy it you have to make it cheaper than what Pro DVD's are going for. People know what to expect from them. In order to sell it you need to make it half the price of a Pro DVD. Just my thoughts.

Plus, please don't knock the pros, they are real hunters, you have to remember these are their jobs. They do lots of scouting, putting in food plots, and managing their deer heard, so its no wonder they see big deer. Its just when we see it on film we only see the big ones. I sure David Blanton, Michael Waddell, Bill Jordan, Jackie Bushman, Brenda Valentine all take a doe or 2 through out the season to balance the heard or maybe take out a buck that isn't right for the gene pool. Problem is we don't see it on TV. Just don't bash them for the opportunities they have.

Good luck on your project, keep it cheap and it may sell. I have no ill will towards you two, good luck hunting and videoing.

Re: Would you buy it?

My motto is make it vs. buy it.

I can assume it would be the same case here. However, I would watch it if given the chance.

But dont feel bad I dont buy any hunting videos with all thats on TV daily... LOL

On a side note.

Misses are valuable tools and info. If possible, show a slo-mo of the miss afterwards to see arrow flight, deer dropping, etc.

I have an old pro-mo video for scent sticks, I think. They show a ton of shots, both hits amd misses in slo-mo and its awesome to see the arrow impact and miss too. Amazing on how much a deer can move after the arrow has been released...

Re: Would you buy it?

Man, I can't believe some of the snide comments in this thread, to a guy who is just trying to put together a good quality, home-made hunting video and asking a simple question. It amazes me how some folks can get their nose out of joint over a pretty simple request.

Ryan, I have had only one experience in buying a home-made hunting video on here from another member. He ripped me off and didn't deliver, but I managed to get a copy of it from another member. It was poorly done and really disappointed me.

The more I read this thread though, the more I think maybe your video is going to be a bit better than that...LOL...so, if it's not too pricey to get a copy, you can put me on your list too.

It's always fun to watch a good hunting video, whether it's pros hunting or not, as long as it tracks good... smile.gif
