buckhunter1500
I purchased a new pair of hunting boots recently. A pair of insulated rubber boots, and they have a new shoe smell to them. I was looking for any suggestion on how to get rid of that smell.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: New Hunting Boots hmm...if its going to be nice out, leave them outside for a few days....wear them around the yard when you can..thats about all i can think of...i'm sure someone else will come up with something
rifleman25
Re: New Hunting Boots Walk through a feedlot with them once or a dairy barn. They sure won't smell like new rubber anymore
buckhunter1500
Re: New Hunting Boots Thanks, that should work for the outsides. But the inside has a smell too it also. Maybe that scent will be locked in enough to not bother the deer, or maybe just wearing them around awhile will break them in and get rid of the scent. I am not sure? 257bob
Re: New Hunting Boots The inside probably isn't a huge problem, but you can spray a dirt cover scent or use wafers on the inside to cover it. I would spray the outside of your boots down with the cover scent each time you get in the woods.
wtnhunt
Re: New Hunting Boots Yep, leave em out or go and walk through a cow pasture and step in some cow pies. Saw a product at wal mart once that was a new boot and shoe odor eliminator for the hunter. Might use baking soda in the inside.
PAhardwoods
Re: New Hunting Boots it can be hard to get rid of that rubber smell, get them caked in mud put two posts in the back yard and let them bake in the sun for a week or so covered in mud, and then spray them every other day with some type of scent spray as well i know some guys that leave them out for a month
