Re: What was your first car

My first vehicle was a 1957 Cushman Eagle Scooter.

I later used the 1953 Ford until I bought my first car of my own.

The first car I bought was a new 1966 Opel Kadett.

$1968. The payments were $67. per month.

4 cyl. 67 hp. I was in Heaven.

Re: What was your first car

My sister and I shared a 1965 Corvair Monza! The thing was great on gas but wow, did it suck up the oil. We then moved up to a 68' Chevy BelAir. What a junker that was. smirk.gif

The first car of my own was a 1972 Canary Yellow Nova Rally Sport. A 350 cu. in. engine that was punched out to a 383 was built from scratch by a friend who has since passed away. He was one of those guys who could listen to a tuned motor and tell you what it needed. He had that car jumping off the ground in second gear and passing everything but a gas station. He told me to be careful with it, but I managed to smack it up after hitting an island of stones while going through the gears and losing it to a tree! Alcohol played a part in that. frown.gif

Re: What was your first car

1978 Ford LTD 2 door. It passed from my brother to me. My brother had trashed the car and gave itseveral large "love bumps". The interior was a little less than bad but had some of the orginal vinal. We called it "the beast" because it looked so bad. He did do me a big favor by blowing up the original engine, I think it was a 302 or 289. My dad found a goood deal on a 400 big block and one of my friends had a holly 750 that we put on top of it. It could smoke the tires for 50 yards and could get air over the hills on the dirt road I lived on if I drove it over 110. It was fun lining up beside brand new TA's anc camaros with this old beat up POS and blowing them away.

I'm amazed that I lived through that car.
